Today’s ‘voice’ comes to us by way of a long time supporter of the “Voices of Survivors Foundation” and a really great guy, George Giefer, Jr. When you want to talk about a guy who definitely gets what being a ‘Survivor’ is all about, you need to look no further than to George. He gets it in a big way. George takes us along his own journey with his own battle with ganglioneuroblastoma. After George was diagnosed with this type of tumor, his journey into ‘Survivorship’ began and he rocks it in a huge way!!! We can’t thank him enough for sharing his ‘voice’ in the ‘Written Word’ with the “Voices of Survivors Foundation”!
* For those who are unfamiliar with what these tumors are, ganglioneuromas and ganglioneuroblastomas are tumors of the sympathetic nervous system that originate from neural crest sympathogonia, which are completely undifferentiated cells of the sympathetic nervous system. Along with neuroblastomas, ganglioneuromas and ganglioneuroblastomas are collectively known as neuroblastic or neurogenic tumors.
